Sing with Us

• We rehearse on Monday evenings from 6:30pm until 9:00pm at Brechin United Church, 2020 Estevan Road, Nanaimo
• We invite new singers to join us in September and January each season. Our next intake of new members will be September 9th, 2024.
• We encourage you to attend a trial rehearsal before commiting to our choir. If you enjoy the experience, you will then audition for placement in the choir.
• Auditions are conducted by our Artistic Director, Fiona Blackburn, at the beginning of each term. These are:
  • approximately 10 minutes and are scheduled between 9:00 and 9:30 after the first few rehearsals,
  • held privately and are designed to determine your vocal health, timbre, range and where your voice may fit within our choir.
• You are not obliged to pay your member’s fee until you have been officially registered for our choir. You will be provided with these details once you have joined the choir.
• Please note that while your ability to read music is an asset, we do supply some practice tracks to aid singers with their learning.
• Tell us about yourself, your contact info (will be confidential), your choral and musical experience, which voice part you prefer, or think is correct, and we will be in touch within two business days with more information, such as our schedules and fees. Do contact us if you do not hear back – emails can go astray.
